Welcome to Duffersville

The site for Washington D.C. Metrpolitan Area golfers not quite ready for the manicured fairways of Congressional Country Club. Wear your "I only play golf on days that end in "Y"" tee shirts with pride and let us know where you golf.

Hilltop Golf

We played at Hilltop Golf Club in Alexandria, Va. Hilltop is a former landfill converted to an executive 9 hole. Hilltop bills itself as having a "Scottish links flavor." Not actually having been to Scotland I can't attest to the flavor test. It is pretty though. Unfortunately you can't walk the course unless you bring a Sherpa. It's quite hilly. The fairways are short but challenging with errant balls landing in the high grass. The views are spectacular with the Potomac and the Maryland shore line visible. There are signs of the courses recent pass with fenced vents and signs warning not to smoke within 50 feet. All in all a nice experience and I recommend it to all my fellow Duffers.
